We decided to head to the remote and isolated southern area of the park known as Ibex Dunes. Once there, we loaded up backpacks, tripods, and water and started the approximately 1.5 mile trek to the dune field, and then hiked up to the apex of the roughly 600 ft dune to scan for photo opportunities. The sky had very little cloud cover until a couple of hours or so in, then we noticed 3 dust devils, and increasing cloud cover. The clouds began billowing in, and were just racing, and the LIGHT!!! The sky was just on fire, as conditions were changing with lightning speed. It was all I could do to just not get blown off the dune, sand in my lens, hair, ears, but all worth it! Shot with my Canon R6, with my RF15-35, F16, 1/10 sec at 15mm.
